Façade Reaches Pinnacle of JPMorgan Chase Headquarters at 270 Park Avenue in Midtown East, Manhattan

Façade installation has reached the roof parapet of JPMorgan Chase’s 1,388-foot supertall headquarters at 270 Park Avenue in Midtown East. Designed by Lord Norman Foster of Foster + Partners with Adamson Associates as the architect of record and developed by Tishman Speyer, the 60-story skyscraper will yield 2.5 million square feet of office space with a capacity of 15,000 employees, and will become the tallest structure in New York completely powered by hydroelectric energy. The property occupies a full city block bound by East 48th Street to the north, East 47th Street to the south, Park Avenue to the east, and Madison Avenue to the west.

1 Park Point Wraps Up Construction in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn

Construction is finishing up on 1 Park Point, a 13-story residential building in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Focus Property Group, a subsidiary of JEMB Realty, the 145-foot-tall structure will span 395,726 square feet and yield 375 rental units with an average scope of 798 square feet, as well as 5,388 square feet of retail space, 18,850 square feet of community space, a cellar level, and 106 enclosed parking spaces. Twenty-five percent of the residential units will be dedicated to affordable housing. Pavarini McGovern served as the general contractor for the property, which was formerly addressed as 11 Ocean Parkway and is located on Machate Circle at the southwestern corner of Prospect Park, bound by Ocean Parkway, Coney Island Avenue, and Caton Place.

Designed by HCN Architects, the building yields 41 rental units ranging from studios to two-bedroom layouts with 13 designated as affordable housing. Maxie Development, LLC is listed as the owner of the property, which is located by the corner of 31st Street and 36th Avenue, and Modern Spaces is currently in charge of leasing and marketing at Urban36.

New Rendering Released for Project Commodore Supertall at 175 Park Avenue in Midtown East, Manhattan

An updated rendering has been released for Project Commodore, an approved 85-story supertall skyscraper at 175 Park Avenue in Midtown East. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by RXR Realty and TF Cornerstone, the 1,575-foot-tall mixed-use tower will replace the Hyatt Grand Central New York hotel and yield 2.1 million square feet of Class A office space, 500 Hyatt hotel rooms spread across 453,000 square feet on the upper floors, and 10,000 square feet of retail space on the ground, cellar, and second levels. The development will also include a 25,000-square-foot elevated public plaza surrounding the tower and abutting the adjacent Grand Central Terminal. If built to its current scope, Project Commodore will also wrest the title of tallest building in the western hemisphere by roof height from Central Park Tower. AECOM Tishman is going to be the general contractor and RWDI Inc. is the structural engineer.
