Addressed as 217 West 57th Street, the soaring 131-story skyscraper is designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill and developed by Extell and holds the crown as the tallest structure by roof height in the Western Hemisphere and the tallest residential building in the world. Corcoran Sunshine and Extell Marketing Group are leading sales for its 179 units and are anticipating a $4 billion sellout. Construction has reached completion on the second phase of The Vantage Collection, a two-tower residential complex in Jersey City. Addressed as 1 Park View Avenue, the rectangular 44-story residential tower is an exact architectural twin of its adjacent sibling, 33 Park View Avenue, and the two are connected by a podium with 15,000 square feet of retail space. The complex as a whole is designed by S9 Architecture and developed by Fisher Organization, and yields 900 apartments. 1 Park View Avenue features 452 homes that range from studios to two-bedroom units, with the majority offering unobstructed views of the New York Harbor and year-round daylight exposure. The buildings sit on a full-block parcel bound by Park View Avenue to the north, Marin Boulevard to the east, South Cove to the south, and St. Peter’s Street to the west. YIMBY spotted a new batch of renderings and diagrams that depict Skidmore Owings & Merrill‘s upcoming ground-up mixed-use supertall at 175 Park Avenue, aka Project Commodore. The 83-story Midtown East, Manhattan behemoth is slated to rise on the site of the Grand Hyatt between the 108-year old Beaux Arts style Grand Central Terminal and the 91-year-old Art Deco style Chrysler Building at the corner of East 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue. RXR Realty and TF Cornerstone are developing the massive structure, which also appears to have gotten a height reduction to 1,486 feet tall, as opposed to the 1,646-foot tall architectural height previously intended. Inside will be 500 Hyatt hotel rooms on the upper floors spanning 453,000 square feet; 10,000 square feet of retail space on the ground, cellar, and second levels; new elevated, publicly accessible plaza space overlooking the surrounding Midtown neighborhood; and 2.1 million square feet of Class A office space.
