The latest photos of One57 show the crane removal in progress. Black netting now encloses the crane, which has been attached to the side of the building for quite some time. If reports (via Curbed) of the crane’s removal are anywhere near accurate, it should be down shortly.
While glass installation has clearly continued–and it looks phenomenal, almost making the tower look like ‘Excalibur‘ from The Sword in the Stone–the crane was obviously needed for work at the top of the skyscraper. Progress on the tower’s very top does seem to have stalled since Hurricane Sandy, and completion is impossible until the new crane is finally installed. Luckily, that day is rapidly approaching.

Was about to post the same thing
ONE57 is looking better and better as its construction progresses. Gary Barnett should be proud to be responsible of building a handsome skyscraper.
