The redevelopment of the southwest corner of the West Village by the Hudson River is often overlooked, but that part of the neighborhood is about to get a healthy dose of modernization. One project now under construction is 111 Leroy Street, which will create nine apartments and five townhouses. Work has progressed significantly since our last look, and façade installation appears imminent. Property Markets Group is responsible for the development.
Renderings for the site show a bold rectilinear design inspired by the art deco movement, though less so than a prior elevation had shown. The larger building will have the address 111 Leroy Street, and the five single-family townhouses will be addressed 115, 117, 119, 121 Leroy Street and 621 Greenwich Street from right to left.
Workshop/APD Architecture is responsible for the design.
The estimated completion date has not been formally announced, but the rate of construction suggests it may be ready by early 2019.
