Construction has topped out on 282-286 Grand Street, a seven-story residential building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Developed by Prosper Property Group, the 23,500-square-foot structure will yield 25 rental apartments spread across roughly 22,500 square feet, along with residential amenity space and a small commercial space on the ground floor.
The project team has not confirmed the mix of units that will be available when the building is completed. Amenities will include a fitness center, bike storage, and communal recreation space.
The rendering in the main photo shows a modern design with floor-to-ceiling windows for the ground-floor retail component and large rectangular windows above surrounded by gray cladding. A protruding frame breaks up the fenestration in the center of the main elevation.
Prosper Property Group, the primary developer responsible for the project, has formed a joint venture with Marc Straus, whose family has owned the development site since the 1970s. As reported in March 2022, the building is expected to debut by the end of 2023.
