Housing Lottery Launches for 64 Norfolk Senior Housing on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 64 Norfolk Senior Housing, a 16-story mixed-use building in a two-tower development at 60 Norfolk Street on the Lower East Side, Manhattan. Designed by Dattner Architects and developed by Gotham Organization, the combined structures yield 488 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 86 units for residents at 40 to 70 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $25,372 to $84,070.

An amenity floor features a lounge, game room, yoga and activity room, and a social services office. Additional amenities include a community room and outdoor roof terraces, a shared laundry room, security cameras in common areas, microwave, and an on-site superintendent. Residences come with name-brand kitchen appliances, countertops, and finishes, as well as air conditioning, hardwood floors, and patios or balconies. Tenants are responsible for electricity.

At 40 percent of the AMI, there are 19 units with a monthly rent ranging from $654 to $827 for incomes ranging from $25,372 to $48,040. At 50 percent of the AMI, there are 29 units with a monthly rent ranging from $855 to $1,078 for incomes ranging from $32,263 to $60,050. At 60 percent of the AMI, there are 26 units with a monthly rent ranging from $947 to $1,193 for incomes ranging from $35,418 to $72,060. At 70 percent of the AMI, there are 12 units with a monthly rent ranging from $1,126 to $1,416 for incomes ranging from $41,555 to $$84,070.

Individuals or households with at least one household member who is 62 years of age or older at the time of the application who meet the income and household size requirements listed in the table below may apply. Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than December 5, 2022.
