Construction is rising above street level on 247 North Avenue, a 28-story residential tower in New Rochelle, New York. Designed by Studio V and developed by LCOR, the structure will yield 307 rental apartments in studio to two-bedroom layouts with 31 units reserved for households earning 80 percent area median income, as well as 1,800 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and parking for 257 vehicles. Aspera Studio is the interior designer and LRC Construction LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is located on an interior lot bound by Lecount Place to the north and North Avenue to the south.

Recent photographs show a tower crane assembled over the site as the superstructure begins to rise above the sidewalk fencing. Crews were seen lifting various materials and working across the third level.

The rendering depicts a fairly straightforward rectangular massing rising from a multi-story podium clad in red brick and topped with a terrace. The western elevation features a distinctive array of angled structural columns at the base of the tower, which is enclosed in dark paneling surrounding floor-to-ceiling windows. The upper levels incorporate setbacks, pocketed terraces, and balconies, as well as a section of double-height glass on the southern corner. The structure culminates in a flat parapet with a rectangular bulkhead with rounded corners.

LCOR closed on a $94 million loan arranged by JLL Capital Markets to complete the project. 247 North Avenue will utilize a geothermal heating and cooling system, the second such building from the developer after 1515 Surf Avenue in Coney Island, Brooklyn.

The property is located in close proximity to the Metro-North Railroad at the New Rochelle station to the west.

247 North Avenue is expected to debut in the second quarter of 2025.

Westchester is smart by encouraging growth in their cites. Nassau County is determined not to change, which can only mean decline.

    • I live in Baldwin and there some apartment buildings planned. I wish there were more developments like thr 1941 Baldwin Gardens.

This building is about to be constructed, and it must be installed by crews. To make it beautiful according to the materials chosen to use: Thanks.
