Construction permits have been filed for an eight-story residential building at 790 Liberty Avenue in East New York, Brooklyn. Designed by Jay Architect & Engineering, the 80-foot-tall structure will span 35,513 square feet and yield 53 units, as well as 14 enclosed and seven open parking spaces. The permit is a post-approval amendment to a filing made early 2022 that was approved under the New York City 421A permitting program, which expired in June 2022. This amendment allows the site to maintain its 421A tax exemption. David Goldberger is listed as the owner of the property, which is located at the corner of Liberty Avenue and Berriman Street.
790 Liberty Avenue is a four-minute walk to the north of the C train at the Shepherd Avenue station, and an 11-minute walk to the south of the J and Z trains at the Cleveland Street station.
The lot is currently vacant, and construction is expect to begin soon. A completion date for the development has not been announced.
