The affordable housing lottery has launched for 5-22 49th Avenue, a five-story residential building in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Issac & Stern Architects and developed by Amir Zicherman of Oren & Ivy LLC, the structure yields 15 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are nine units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $111,532 to $218,010.
Amenities include bike storage lockers, shared laundry room, elevator, gym, and a rooftop terrace. Residences come equipped with dishwashers, air conditioning, and name-brand kitchen appliances, countertops, and finishes. Tenants are responsible for electricity which includes stove, heat, and hot water.
At 130 percent of the AMI, there are four one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $3,253 for incomes ranging from $111,532 to $181,740; and five two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $3,835 for incomes ranging from $131,486 to $218,010.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than June 14, 2024.
