The affordable housing lottery has launched for The Westport, a 26-story mixed-use building built in 2002 at 500 West 56th Street in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. Designed by Costas Kondylis & Partners and developed by Related Companies, the structure yields 371 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 19 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $118,560 to $218,010.
Amenities include an on-site basketball court, resident lounge, garden patio, a landscaped garden patio, bicycle storage facilities, fitness center, parking garage, a 24-hour attended lobby, a rooftop party lounge, and a rooftop sun terrace with lounge chairs, tables, and chairs. Residences come with marble bathrooms with pedestal sinks, kitchens with polished granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, hardwood flooring, and expansive windows.
At 130 percent of the AMI, there are eight studios with a monthly rent of $3,458 for incomes ranging from $118,560 to $161,590; ten one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $3,702 for incomes ranging from $126,926 to $181,740; and one two-bedroom with a monthly rent of $4,434 for incomes ranging from $152,023 to $218,010.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than December 16, 2024.
