Peck Slip Social, a new whiskey-forward bar and social space, has opened at 36 Peck Slip within Historic Front Street in Manhattan’s Financial District. The 2,100-square-foot bar was cofounded by longtime Seaport residents and partners Alex Davis and Learan Kahanov, and designed to capture the spirit of the local community. It will join a variety of retail and food businesses within Historic Front Street.
Historic Front Street is a collection of 11 landmarked buildings and three modern buildings located between Peck Slip and Beekman Street in Manhattan’s Seaport District. Designed by Cook + Fox Architects and led by the Durst Organization, the neighborhood officially completed construction on its new properties and renovations for its existing properties in 2005. The development yields 95 residential units and 15 street-level storefronts.
The newly opened lounge features a 24-foot-long bar and two distinct areas, one with a small stage for live music and communal seating, and another with a pool table, board games, and relaxed sofa seating. It offers more than 100 whiskeys, a curated drinks menu, small plates, and a live music program.
“Historic Front Street is home to a vibrant residential community,” said Jody Durst, president of The Durst Organization. “We’re gratified to see long-time members of the community bring their vision for a local social club to life in a space that offers a unique, welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.”
