Leasing has launched for 655 Union Street, a 13-story mixed-use building located at the intersection of Union Street and 4th Avenue in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Developed by Avery Hall and Gindi Capital and designed by L+Z Architecture, the property yields 193 apartments, 50 of which have been designated as affordable.
Residential units at 655 Union Street are offered in one- and two-bedroom configurations, and are equipped with Italian porcelain tiles, marble countertops, integrated appliances, in-unit washers and dryers, and oversized windows. Select apartments will come with wraparound terraces.
Amenities will include a landscaped rooftop terrace with a 25-yard pool, lounge areas, grills, and an outdoor dining lounge. There will also be a second-floor garden. Fitness amenities include a gym with cardio equipment, Peloton bikes, weights, and a wellness studio for yoga, pilates, and barre workouts.
“655 Union Street is the only full amenity rental building on the border of Gowanus and Park Slope, offering a one-of-a-kind living experience that combines high-quality, bespoke design with premium finishes and luxury comforts, including a rooftop pool,” said Brian Ezra, founding principal of Avery Hall. “This building stands out for its attention to detail, from the white oak and terrazzo interiors to the custom light fixtures and integrated appliances, offering rentals that look like condos in one of the city’s most sought-after areas.”
The property is located directly adjacent to the Union Street subway station, served by the D, N, R, and W trains.
Move-ins are expected to begin imminently.

Rooftop access for residents is great, but I don’t understand the fitness amenities. If they just created retail space and encouraged a gym or pilates studio to open up shop, there would be a much bigger customer base (the whole neighborhood) and thus have more classes, staffing, maintenance, etc.
A private gym amenity is almost universally preferred by residents for a number of obvious reasons.
Chose to be located on the border and both have a feeling of being different, that is the experience of living such as traffic jams or broken traffic lights: Thanks.
