The affordable housing lottery has launched for Society Brooklyn at DeGraw, a 21-story residential building at 500 Degraw Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by SLCE and developed by PMG & Carlyle, the structure yields 344 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 88 units for residents at 40 to 100 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $33,086 to $167,700.

Amenities include a garage, bike storage lockers, gym, pool, recreation room, common area Wi-Fi, business center, outdoor terrace, package lockers, and rooftop terrace. Units are equipped with washers and dryers, dishwashers, air conditioning, charging outlets with USB ports, smart controls for heating and cooling, energy-efficient appliances, intercoms, and name-brand kitchen countertops and finishes.

At 40 percent of the AMI, there are three studios with a monthly rent of $823 for incomes ranging from $33,086 to $49,720; 22 one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $874 for incomes ranging from $35,589 to $55,920; and ten two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,031 for incomes ranging from $42,892 to $67,080.

At 60 percent of the AMI, there are four studios with a monthly rent of $1,290 for incomes ranging from $49,098 to $74,580; 22 one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,374 for incomes ranging from $52,732 to $83,880; and nine two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,631 for incomes ranging from $63,463 to $100,620.

At 100 percent of the AMI, there are three studios with a monthly rent of $2,224 for incomes ranging from $81,120 to $124,300; ten one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,375 for incomes ranging from $87,052 to $139,800; and five two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,832 for incomes ranging from $104,640 to $167,700.

Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than May 27, 2025.
