The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) is set to review a proposal for retroactive approval of the construction of a bulkhead at 348 MacDonough Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. The Italianate-style rowhouse contains two units and stands four stories tall. The property is located between Stuyvesant and Lewis Avenues.
Originally built in 1873, 348 MacDonough Street sits on a 2,000-square-foot lot with a 20-foot frontage and 100-foot depth. The property has a total building area of 3,703 square feet and is zoned R6B, meaning it is designated exclusively for residential use.
The building is currently owned by BSTUY LLC and has undergone various renovations and permit filings, including a permit for alterations filed in 2022. The most recent permit filings for the property reference the same job ID, suggesting ongoing work likely related to the bulkhead mentioned in the proposal.
The nearest subways from 348 MacDonough Street are the A and C trains at the Utica Avenue station.
The LPC will review the proposal on February 25.
