A new affordable and supportive housing development is moving forward at 913 Kent Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, on a city-owned lot managed by the Department of Environmental Protection. The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) has selected IMPACCT Brooklyn to lead the project, which will deliver at least 70 affordable units, approximately 60 percent of which will be supportive housing.

The project will be constructed alongside existing DEP infrastructure and the Myrtle Avenue community garden, preserving about 20,000 square feet of green space while adding new residential and community amenities. The ground floor will include non-residential space for potential community use. IMPACCT Brooklyn, a community-based nonprofit with longstanding ties to the neighborhood, is also the current operator of the community garden.

This is the second project designated under the restructured Supportive Housing RFQ, which seeks to streamline the selection process by pre-qualifying experienced developers.

913 Kent Avenue is accessible by the G train at Classon Avenue and the C train at Franklin Avenue.
