Construction is complete on Le Gallerie, a seven-story commercial building at 132 West 14th Street on the border of Greenwich Village and Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed, developed, and owned by KPG Funds, the structure yields 62,000 square feet of Class A office space with floor plates ranging from 6,000 to more than 8,500 square feet. The development also contains 10,588 square feet of lower-level retail space marketed by Ripco Real Estate. JLL Capital Markets is leading leasing and marketing for the office space at the property, which is located between Sixth and Seventh Avenues.
All exterior work has finished since our last update in February 2024, when only the grid of oversized square windows had been installed on the main northern profile. The façade is composed of beige metal paneling framing a tight fenestration of recessed floor-to-ceiling glass, and the main entrance sits beside a white marble wall at the western end of the property.
The structure originally served as an auxiliary space for the adjacent Salvation Army headquarters and featured a tan brick façade, as seen in the following Google Street View image from before work began on its re-cladding.
KPG Funds oversaw the transformation of Le Gallerie, incorporating modern styles and amenities into the building’s interior overhaul. The property features two floors of pre-built, hotel-style office spaces, residential-style kitchens and bathrooms, “nano-wall” conference rooms, and premium lighting and finishes.

Le Gallerie is outfitted with smart technology from Savant, Akuvox, Avigilon Alta, Sonos, Lutron, and Cooler Master. The lobby will also serve as an expansive art gallery with a specially commissioned work by critically acclaimed artist Julian Opie. Office amenities include a multi-tiered rooftop terrace, which also features outdoor conference areas, lounges, a bar, barbecue areas, and views of the World Trade Center and Empire State Building.
KPG Funds signed a 99-year ground lease in 2021 with the Salvation Army.
The closest subways from 132 West 14th Street are the 1, 2, 3, F, L, and M trains at the 14th Street stations on Sixth and Seventh Avenues.

There’s nothing wrong with the new design, but there was nothing wrong with the old design that a creatively capable architect couldn’t make work well. Destruction is the lowest common denominator.
I like that marble section west of the entrance, more of that would have been nice.

The correct French is “la galerie”. Two errors in one name.
Whoever came up with the name is either not fluid in French at all, or purposely did a play on words.

The previous building looked like a 1930s WPA or IND substation.
The next door Salvation Army (headquarters?) needs to be sold by them the facade restored and adaptive re-use for it all.
How is the inside? is there a theater?

Maybe it’s simply not French but Italian. In Italian “le gallerie” is the plural form of “la galleria”, so the name could refer to that, meaning “the galleries”.
