Exterior work is nearing completion on 71 South 4th Street, a four-story residential building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Infocus Design and Planning and developed by Mike Reznik of WH Capital, the 55-foot-tall structure will span 4,324 square feet and yield six rental units with an average scope of 720 square feet. The project will also include a cellar level and a 35-foot-long rear yard. The property is located between Berry Street and Wythe Avenue.
The structure stands almost fully enclosed in its white brick façade and grid of recessed windows, which remain wrapped in protective blue film. The blank western lot line wall is finished in smooth concrete. The ground floor remains obscured by the sidewalk shed, but this should be removed in the coming weeks as construction draws to a close.
Below is an outdated black and white rendering of the project, showing balconies on the top two levels that have been omitted from the final result.
The property was formerly occupied by a two-story residential building, as seen in the below Google Street View image from before its demolition.
The closest subways from the development are the L train at the Bedford Avenue station to the northeast, and the J, M, and Z trains at the elevated Marcy Avenue station to the west over Broadway.
71 South 4th Street’s outdated anticipated completion date was slated for spring 2025, as noted on site. YIMBY expects work to finish closer to the end of this year, or early 2026 at the very latest.

What was there before was interesting and well cared for but this does offer more units.
It is nice that the neighboring historical structure will no longer appear out of place standing alone.
Its fascinating that the first wave of neighborhood redevelopment here is starting to be torn down….things have really changed for the better!
Would love to live back in Williamsburg. My Mom still resides there. City Worker as well.
