Plans have been approved for 259 George Street, a 45-story residential skyscraper in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by NB Plaza Owner LLC, a joint venture between Ifany LLC and the Abundant Life Family Worship Church, the structure will yield 800 apartments with 160 dedicated to affordable housing. The project will also include roughly 25,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a 501-vehicle parking garage with 24-hour valet service. The property is located between Morris and Neilson Streets within the Downtown Redevelopment District Renewal Area.
The above and below renderings look west from John Street at the skyscraper, which begins with a multi-story podium and rises with two interlocking volumes with curved surfaces. The façade will be composed of floor-to-ceiling glass framed by white paneling, with a tighter grid on the taller southern wing.
The wings connect with a flowing curve on the western elevation.
The design proposal was unanimously approved by the New Brunswick Planning Board in an 8-0 vote on Monday, March 9. The building will rise around the Abundant Life Family Worship Church and Bravo Supermarket.
The tower will become the tallest structure in Middlesex County. No variances are needed for the project due to its location in the Downtown Redevelopment District Renewal Area. The New Brunswick Housing Authority approved the low-income housing units back in 2024.
Residenital amenities will include a lobby, a coworking space, multiple lounges, and a fitness center.
The property is located in close proximity to Route 18 and the elevated New Brunswick train station on NJ Transit’s Northeast Corridor and Amtrak’s Northeast Regional and Keystone Service lines.
The project is expected to cost around $500 million and is projected to generate up to 2,000 construction jobs as well as hundreds of permanent jobs after completion. A construction timeline for 259 George Street has yet to be announced.

500 parking spots is nauseating but I will remind myself that this is a hospital area etc. I like the upward development for NB.

Bravo Market is going to be busy.
Curved glass buildings have been known to focus sunlight. In London, one has been found to melt the plastic of cars parked in an unfortunate location.
Viñoly’s most hideous “Walkie Talkie” building is like a huge pimple on the face of a lovely woman. You can’t stop looking with disgust at how utterly “F you” this statement is to the world. Soon it will have tall buildings adjacent on either side, but the only true solution is to dismantle the insult immediately.
This is the dumbest comment anyone has ever made. That buiding was a total one-off, the glass was curved down towards the street. This is not. Living in the misinformation era.
