A new, taller design has been revealed for 112 Liberty Street, a 30-story residential tower in Manhattan’s Financial District. Designed by Nexus Architecture and developed by Hiwin Group, the structure will rise on a through-lot property bounded by Liberty Street and the World Trade Center complex to the north, and Cedar Street to the south.

The new rendering above looks west along Liberty Street, showing the tower rising with a lone setback just above its midpoint on the northern face. The façade is depicted composed of floor-to-ceiling windows framed by a grid of beveled green paneling. Two-story-high bands of glass will break up the fenestration at the pinnacle, above the setback, and on a lower level where a pocketed terrace is located.

The design is a significant departure from the previous 20-story hotel iteration below from Stonehill & Taylor Architects.

The site has remained idle since our last update in September 2020. Hiwin Group purchased the property for just under $22 million in April 2024. The previous developer, Hidrock Properties, had acquired it in 2018 for $38.5 million.

The site is surrounded by a large number of subways at the nearby World Trade Center Transportation Hub and Fulton Transit Center.

An anticipated completion date for 112 Liberty Street is slated for 2029. Further details have yet to be announced.

  1. They must have bought the development rights from the Trinity Place frontage — which means those ugly buildings will be there forever. Too bad we can’t have a more attractive completion of the frame for Zuccotti Park.

  2. I’m going to be pissed if the flush-to-streetwall base is shorts than the previous version.

  3. Fantastic upgrade

  4. Have it your way

  5. Have it Your Way-Know where the workers will be eating

    Much better revised design.

  7. It’s my block. Can’t imagine how that building is going to take out the garbage on little Cedar Street. No garbage pick up is allowed on liberty because it’s “inside the campus“
