Permits have been filed for a nine-story mixed-use building at 70 West Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Located between Noble Street and Milton Street, the lot is near the Greenpoint Avenue subway station, served by the G train. Mendy Schwimmer is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 95-foot-tall development will yield 70,013 square feet, with 68,700 square feet designated for residential space and 1,313 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 99 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 693 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar, a 31-foot-long rear yard, and 13 open parking spaces.

Shmuel Wieder of S. Wieder Architect P.C. is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the lot is vacant. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Hope they find a way to preserve the water tower. One of Gp’s few remaining industrial landmarks.
