Leasing has launched for 60 Wharf Drive, a striking glass-clad 40-story waterfront tower located in the seven-acre West Wharf complex in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The new development is designed by SLCE Architects with amenity spaces by Peter McGinley, and developed by Halcyon Management with Cooper Robertson & Partners responsible for the master plan. Components include 554 studio through three-bedroom residences, more than 60,000 square feet of interior amenities, and 50,000 square feet of outdoor space.
The majority of residences come with balconies and nearly all with views of the East River, Manhattan skyline, and Brooklyn cityscapes. Monthly rents begin at $3,300 for studios, $4,080 for one-bedrooms, $6,325 for two-bedrooms, and $8,800 for three-bedroom layouts.
“This is an extraordinary development in terms of design, amenities, and holistic focus on lifestyle and wellness,” says Adam Heller, president of Heller Organization, the firm responsible for the leasing program. “These apartments have been thoughtfully planned with an emphasis on light and air. The broad cross-section of indoor and outdoor amenity areas focuses on healthy lifestyles, from recreation and entertainment to work-life balances.”
Residences are outfitted with operable floor-to-ceiling Thermopane windows, high ceilings, white oak hardwood floors, central HVAC climate control, walk-in closets, and fiber optics. Kitchens have stainless steel appliances with gas cooktops and ranges, light wood cabinetry, full-height backsplashes, and white Quartz countertops.
Residents will have access to a wide range of amenities including a landscaped rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline; a state-of-the-art fitness center; a spa with steam rooms, saunas, experience shower, hot tub, cold plunge tub, whirlpool, marble-lined hammam, and a salt inhalation and meditation room; a lounge with a fireplace; a billiards room; a dedicated concierge service to assist residents with their daily needs and handle package deliveries. Other amenities include co-working hub; bike storage; indoor and outdoor pools; indoor basketball courts; bowling alley; two PGA golf simulators; music room and podcast/recording studio; a children’s walk-in wading pool, indoor playroom, and teen game room; pet grooming station; package room with refrigerated storage, resident storage, parking garage with electric vehicle charging stations, and two screening rooms with media lounge.

what is the square footage for studio Apts?
A boring glass tower that will add even more parking spots to the neighborhood
Over the last several decades, as people have fallen in love with floor-to-ceiling windows and light-strewn spaces, birds have suffered the consequences. The amount of glass in a building is the strongest predictor of how dangerous it is to birds, according to a report on the issue published by the city of Toronto.
Earlier this month in Chicago, almost a thousand birds were killed on a single day at a single building, McCormick Place. Nationwide, researchers estimate that hundreds of millions of birds die crashing into windows each year. It’s one factor, along with problems like habitat loss, behind a sharp decline in North America’s bird population. Since 1970, numbers have dropped by about 30 percent.
Architects and companies are trying out solutions. New windows at the Javits Center, a convention space in Midtown Manhattan, are set with patterns that make them more visible to birds, and deaths have declined by 90 percent. Since most crashes happen within 100 feet of the ground, skyscrapers are advised to treat only the first 10 or so stories.
Dear lord—gubser has a new cause célèbre—birds!
Anything wrong with that Borodoug?
Are you in favor of killing birds?
LMK
you got a problem with that BoroDoug?
Are you in favor of killing birds?
I’m in favor of smashing your head against a window to shut you up Guesser, Gubser, Guessers. Are you even a human or a robot, and why do you ALWAYS talk sh*t to everyone here? Like we get you’re a NIMBY but no need to hunt and go after people like a terrorist 🙄
Really nice. Interiors look stunning. Would really love to see a continuous pedestrian path along the Greenpoint water front. This could be make it one step closer
