The Starling, a new six-story residential building at 66 Monitor Street in Jersey City, New Jersey, is now open for occupancy. Developers Alpine Residential and Fields Grade recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the milestone, as well as the completion of Atlas, another nearby project from the team at 270 Johnston Avenue. Designed by GRT Architects, The Starling yields 39 units in studio to three-bedroom layouts. The property is located by intersection of Montior and Maple Streets.

The Starling is part of The Bergen Lafayette Collection, a series of mixed-use properties that will ultimately comprise nearly 1,000 apartments across five buildings, along with dining and retail options. Nearby transit includes the Liberty State Park NJ Light Rail Station, which serves the Hudson-Bergen Train.

“Our commitment to Bergen-Lafayette began in 2018 when we recognized the neighborhood’s untapped potential as a hidden residential gem,” said William Rosato, managing partner of Alpine Residential. “With the introduction of Atlas and Starling, we now have five thriving rental properties in our Bergen-Lafayette portfolio, complemented by an exciting mix of retailers. None of this would have been possible without the leadership of Mayor Fulop and his administration, who have championed development in emerging neighborhoods west of the waterfront like Bergen-Lafayette.”
