2435 Pacific Street Nears Topping Out in Brownsville, Brooklyn

Renderings courtesy of SLCE Architects

Construction is nearing topping out on 2435 Pacific Street, a ten-story residential building in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Developed by Brooklyn Community Housing & Services along with Alembic Community Development and Love Fellowship Tabernacle, the structure will yield more than 240 affordable and supportive housing for vulnerable families and domestic violence survivors. SLCE Architects is the designer and Mega construction is the contractor. The formerly vacant property is located by the confluence of Pacific Street and East New York Avenue.

Recent photographs show the reinforced concrete superstructure covered in scaffolding and netting as crews work to finish the final stories with CMU blocks. YIMBY predicts 2435 Pacific Street will reach its pinnacle before the end of the month.

The main renderings depicts the wide southern elevation in a what appears to be two different design possibilities. Both feature a multifaceted building massing interspersed with angled walls and a grid of large rectangular windows. The color orange features prominently in each, and is utilized as one of the primary façade treatments in the lefthand image and for accenting in a more blue-dominant exterior on the righthand iteration. It remains unclear which version will be built.

An architect, the total square footage, and a potential list amenities have also yet to be disclosed.

The nearest subways from the development are the L train at the elevated Atlantic Avenue station and the A, C, J, and L trains at the Broadway Junction station further north. Also close to the project is the East New York station on the Long Island Rail Road.

2435 Pacific Street’s anticipated completion date is slated for winter 2025, as noted on site.

Everything seems to be progressing smoothly, for real estate data in October 2024: Thanks.

  4. It’s disgusting how they continue to put these big buildings without any consideration for parking. There’s already an issue with parking. It would’ve made sense to at least build a garage underground or on the roof..#Senseless Society

    • We don’t need more cars in this city! We need more efficient public transport and streets devoted to pedestrians. You must not know that this is only a short walk away from Broadway Junction and the LIRR
