Façade installation is nearing completion on The Village West, a 13-story residential building at 525 Sixth Avenue in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by BKSK Architects and developed by Izaki Group, the 145-foot-tall structure will span 123,000 square feet and yield 71 condominium units and ground-floor commercial space. The property is alternately addressed as 100-106 West 14th Street and located at the corner of West 14th Street and Sixth Avenue, just below the border with Chelsea.
Much of the scaffolding has been dismantled since our last update in early April, when the structure stood fully veiled in black netting while crews were laying the red brick façade. This intricate brickwork is now visible across most of the southern and eastern faces, along with the grid of floor-to-ceiling windows with dark metal frames. The structure’s multifaceted design includes numerous curving corners and windows, giving the building a distinctive appearance that contrasts strikingly with the sharp cubic form of ODA’s 101 West 14th Street directly across the street to the north.
Scaffolding and netting still cover a good deal of the northern face, and the hoist remains attached to the western edge of the superstructure as interior work continues to progress. The gap where it anchors will be among the final portions of the façade to finish up, along with the ground floor.
YIMBY also received an exclusive new rendering of the project, depicting the building looking south along Sixth Avenue in the early morning light. The numerous rounded corners accentuate the overall design of the hand-laid brickwork, while the main entrance will be located within a tall arched opening along Sixth Avenue. The remainder of the ground floor will be clad in broad floor-to-ceiling windows for the retail frontage, and sculpted brick columns with intricate surface patterns expressing the verticality of the structure.
CORE is handling sales and marketing of the homes. The 14th Street subway station is located at the foot of the development, providing convenient access to the F, M, and L trains.
525 Sixth Avenue’s anticipated completion date is slated for spring 2026, as noted on site.

Not really a fan of the clinker brick look in that center section or the two types of brick – really just the blend with the random lighter bricks – BUT overall this is a lovely lovely building and a masterclass on what’s possible with traditional design and traditional materials.
Hello, I had a stroke but I’m feeling fine now I want 2 bedroom Apartment.
Stop spamming
A great contextual design – curved brick details are !!!
Love the ‘castle vibe’ here, nice job!..a breath of fresh air from the repetitive banality of a 520 Fifth Ave.
ℹ️ Overview…!
525 Sixth Avenue on the southwest corner of West 14th Street. The building’s distinctive architecture features a curved façade with mu lti-tiered setbacks, incorporating brick construction, oversized windows, and private terraces integrated into its design.
Strategically positioned at the intersection of Greenwich Village and Chelsea, the building offers residents access to two of Manhattan’s most vibrant neighborhoods….✨
Gaudi always believed and quoted that one who collaborates with nature can create while another can only copy thus, the conclusion is- “Nothing is invented, for it is written in nature first”
Appreciate the moment
a sunny day, a glass of wine, and I’m good to go…🤝

Stop spamming Yimby and get off this site Lea Bender. You’re obviously a troll.
This spamming makes me miss David: Sent From Heaven. All he did was reply with one short cryptic message and left no fuss.
Lea Bender, telling people you don’t use ChatGPT, then proceeding to respond to people that call you out with an answer you made with ChatGPT, is completely hypocritical of you. GET LOST!!!
This may be one of the best new buildings of the year. It’s really rare to have historical elements blend so well with a more modern design, but in a bit of a quirky way. At a glance, it fits with the surrounding historic buildings. But on closer inspection, there’s a lot of interesting things going on. Fortunately it doesn’t go too far. This design will age very well over the years.
H.H. Richardson revived in a modern design including the curved glass corner windows. One of my favorite new buildings. The asymmetry works well and breaks up what most new buildings lack which is character.
Love the mixed style of brickwork and nice photos!
It does not look like the rendering. Disappointing.
Well then, would you mind explaining to everyone why you say so, instead of making a blunt statement?
It most certainly does look like the rendering. Even better I should say. Have some patience and wait for its completion
I agree, the ‘reality’ looks great!
Let’s wait to see what it looks like with the scaffolding down and on a cloudy day. It seems to look very much like the rendering- aside from the fact that the rendering shadows out the other buildings, mutes the building’s color a bit and green washes- all of which create a sense of nostalgia. I think this is a beautiful building for a limestone/brick facade loving person such as myself.
I like!
Love the articulate design of the brick facade
The Architectural Aesthetic here is superb. The curved glass windows look great; but getting the right window blinds will be a challenge.
The only interesting architectural detail I find is the curved glass but brick lovers are drooling again. Old prewar brick bldgs used to have much more fascinating details and ornaments.
Then I guess you must be a drooling lover boy for 101 West 14th Street’s glassy facade across the street. The only one at that intersection that sticks out…
I do indeed much prefer that building over this brick building. Much higher ceiling
What an innovative and uniquely picturesque design! There’s nothing like this in Manhattan. I’m very impressed.
Those little buildings facing Sixth won’t be long for this world.
Excellent design; the architects wisely selected several varying design elements, to break up the rather large mass and blend with its’ neighbors to create a building that looks like the West Village, just newer. The building across the street did neither and has that way too common “inside a bathroom” aesthetic.
Beautiful
Once in a blue moon, a builder will put up something nice in NYC. Thank You.
This is why I really try hard to ignore leaving a comment on this site at times. People use this space to go back and forth after a while it gets annoying. Meet up argue face to face, fight or write a book. Anyway the building looks nice.
It appears stellar deco “Flash Gordon” backdrop, with a reflection of post war Terra cotta Manhattan. I like that it bellows out and away from the flat edgie modernity of NY toad Arch. This building reeks, Respect! It hold some apparent deep respect for those who came before and elegantly reminds NY it belongs. As I recall the original was angular and appeared to stick out like a Hungarian castle. However as I look at the photos it brings the corner back to life and sets it apart from the norm.
Thanks for keeping NY an amazingly appealing for visitors and residents alike.
