The prewar structures yield a combined 88 rent-stabilized units and were sold on Wednesday for a total consideration of $7.6 million. The sale clears the way for a city-supported rehabilitation of the three properties, which together carry 991 open housing code violations and sit in the Department of Housing Preservation and Development’s Alternative Enforcement Program.

General Atlantic has signed a long-term lease for more than 150,000 square feet at 625 Madison Avenue, a 53-story office skyscraper under construction in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Foster + Partners and Gensler and developed by Related Companies in partnership with Andrew Mathias, the 684-foot-tall structure will span 858,500 square feet of carbon-neutral office space. The project will also include ground-floor retail and a sixth-floor amenity club with a private dining room and wraparound outdoor terraces. The property is located at the southeast corner of Madison Avenue and East 59th Street.

Plans have been scrapped for Haven Green, a 123-unit affordable senior housing development at the Elizabeth Street Garden in Nolita, Manhattan, under a legal settlement that shifts the project to a city-owned lot on the Lower East Side. The agreement ends the November 2025 lawsuit brought against the city by developers Pennrose, RiseBoro Community Partnership, and Habitat for Humanity New York City and Westchester, which formally discontinued the case on Thursday. Under the settlement, the development team will acquire the 15,500-square-foot city-owned lot at 22 Suffolk Street and build more than 180 affordable homes. The Elizabeth Street Garden will remain preserved as parkland on its 20,000-square-foot parcel between Prince and Spring Streets.

Construction Begins on 2.5-Mile Bus Lane Overhaul Of 116th Street In East Harlem, Manhattan

Construction is underway on a major redesign of the 116th Street crosstown bus corridor running through Harlem and East Harlem, Manhattan. Led by the New York City Department of Transportation in partnership with the MTA, the project will add 2.5 miles of offset and curbside bus lanes, dedicated traffic signals known as queue jumps, protected bike lanes, and 35,000 square feet of new pedestrian space along a corridor serving more than 65,000 daily bus riders across ten routes. The redesign was presented to Manhattan Community Board 11’s transportation committee in June and calls for 24/7 red-painted bus lanes in both directions from Fifth Avenue to Pleasant Avenue.

LPC To Review Revised Renovation Plans For 80 Horatio Street In West Village, Manhattan

Revised plans have been revealed for the renovation and single-unit conversion of 80 Horatio Street, a five-story residential building in the West Village, Manhattan. Under the proposal, assembled by Allen + Killcoyne Architects and being led by Jane St Garden LLC, the 63-foot-tall building will be converted from eight units into a single-family residence. The project will also include a reconstructed rear façade, a rooftop addition culminating in a bulkhead at an elevation of 74.83 feet, and excavation of the cellar and rear yard.
