The Soloviev Foundation will soon debut “Field of Light,” a six-acre immersive installation along the waterfront edge of Murray Hill, Manhattan. Designed by acclaimed artist Bruce Munro, the installation will take shape at Freedom Plaza, an undeveloped parcel of land along the East River from 38th to 41st Streets.
The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC) is seeking design and development partners to advance the transformation of its sprawling industrial complex. Local officials and developers recently celebrated the commencement of construction on Sutphin Senior Residence, a 15-story affordable housing property at 97-04 Sutphin Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens. Designed by Bernheimer Architecture and developed by affordable housing developer Breaking Ground, the building will yield 173 apartments reserved for low-income seniors, including 52 supportive housing units for formerly homeless older adults with serious mental illness or substance use disorder.
New Jersey developer Milton Fantin has revealed new interior renderings for Overlook Flats, a new mixed-use property in Jersey City. Located at 32 Oakland Avenue, the building is designed by Michels & Waldron Associates and comprises more than 58,000 square feet of office space, 297 rental units, tenant amenity spaces, and an 181-vehicle fully automated parking garage.
New Empire Corp. has begun construction at 58-01 Queens Boulevard, a large assemblage in Woodside, Queens, where a 12-story residential property will soon take shape. Designed by Tang Studio Architect, the 120-unit building was initially announced as a condominium building with units that range from studios up to two-bedroom units.
