Mayer Meisels has filed applications for a four-story, nine-unit residential building at 655 Quincy Street, in central Bedford-Stuyvesant, 10 small blocks south of the Myrtle Avenue stop on the J, M and Z lines. The building will measure 6,000 square feet, which translates units averaging 667 square feet each. Barry Goldsmith is the applicant of record, and the lot is currently vacant.
Donald Brennan made his name in Brooklyn development by building one of the most borough’s most attractive ground-up townhouse projects on Strong Place in Cobble Hill, and now he’s moving much further east with a seven-story residential building at 822 Lexington Avenue in Bed Stuy.
In May, YIMBY reported on filings for an eight-story, 119-unit mixed-use building at 1134 Fulton Street, in southwestern Bedford-Stuyvesant, and now Brownstoner has the Karl-Fisher-designed reveal. The building will actually be 11 stories, and an affordable housing component will boost the number of residential units to 189. Commercial space will measure nearly 18,500 square feet, where a grocery store is expected. Joseph Brunner is developing, and an existing two-story building must first be demolished.
A Key Food at 946 Myrtle Avenue in northeastern Bed Stuy is set to give way to this seven-story apartment building designed by Karl Fischer. The architect filed a new building application last October, and now YIMBY has a rendering of the project headed for the southwestern corner of Myrtle and Throop Avenues.
