Foundations for 25 Columbus Drive Reach Street Level in Jersey City

The reinforced concrete foundation walls for 25 Columbus Drive have reached street level in downtown Jersey City. Additional rebar is sticking out and pointing upward, indicating the location of the columns and walls for the ground-up, 626-foot-high mixed-use project. Handel Architects is designing and Mack Cali is developing the proposed 57-story skyscraper, while Fogarty Finger is the interior architect.

New renderings reveal the glossy, reimagined interiors of 554 Eighth Avenue, known today as 554 On the Eighth. Designed by Fogarty Finger Architecture for The Expansion Group, the renovation is specifically intended to attract tenants from the technology sector. The 21-story pre-war building is located on the southeast corner of Eighth Avenue and West 38th Street and contains approximately 325,000 square feet of commercial area.

Excavation Begins For 25 Columbus Drive in Jersey City

The first stages of excavation at 25 Columbus Drive are apparent as the asphalt from the former parking lot is now being ripped up. This will become the future site of a new mixed-use complex that will rise 626 feet tall and 57 floors high. Handel Architects is designing the proposed structure, while Mack Cali is the developer of the downtown Jersey City project. A total of 750 rental apartments, a 35,000-square-foot privately-funded public school for levels pre-K through first grade, four storefronts covering 16,485 square feet of retail space, and a public plaza will soon be built.
