Demolition Underway at 14 Gay Street in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Demolition is progressing on 14 Gay Street, a landmarked three-story residential building in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. Located in the Greenwich Village Historic District, the 196-year-old structure was deemed at risk of imminent collapse by the city and was ordered to be immediately demolished. The current owner, Nazarian Property Group under the 14 Gay Street LLC, also owns the adjacent 16 Gay Street to the north and purchased both buildings along with three other nearby sites for around $12 million last April. Howard I. Shapiro & Associates is listed as the applicant of record for demolition permits that were recently filed for the property, which is located between Waverly Place and Christopher Street.

76 Eighth Avenue Completes Construction in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Construction is complete on 76 Eighth Avenue, a ten-story commercial building in Greenwich Village. Designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and developed by Sang Lee, Noviprop, and Plus Development, the 120-foot-tall structure yields 30,000 square feet of office space and ground-floor retail. RAAD Studios designed the lobby and Plus Design Studios designed the interiors of the building, which is located at the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 14th Street, straddling the intersection of the Meatpacking District and Chelsea.

Demolition permits have been filed for a three-story residential building at 14 Gay Street in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. The 989-square-foot lot is owned by Nazarian Property Group under the 14 Gay Street LLC, which also owns the adjacent 16 Gay Street.

Located between Carmine Street and Cornelia Street, the lot is two blocks from the West 4th Street-Washington Square subway station, serviced by the A, B, C, D, E, F, and M trains. William Schneider under the 307-309 Sixth Avenue LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

540 Hudson Street’s Brick Façade Nears Completion in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Façade work is nearing completion on 540 Hudson Street, a seven-story residential building in Greenwich Village. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by Aurora Capital Associates and William Gottlieb Real Estate, the 63-foot-tall structure will yield 19 units spread across 48,535 square feet and 6,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and cellar. Titanium Construction Services is the general contractor for the property, which is also addressed as 111 Charles Street and is located at the corner of Hudson and Charles Streets.
