Full demolition permits have been filed for 335 West 39th Street in Midtown West, Manhattan. According to the filing, the site is owned by Jonah Kriger under the 335 West 39th Street Realty Company and currently houses a four-story commercial building with three units. It appears Penn Plaza Consultants is also involved in the partnership. The 43-foot-tall structure was built in 1910.
The Shubert Organization has partnered with Berg + Moss Architects to design and construct a 49-story hotel adjacent to the historic Cort Theatre at 138 West 48th Street in Midtown, Manhattan. Proposed actions also include rehabilitation of the theatre and the construction of a five-story annex that would contain a portion of the new hotel component and back-of-house theatre spaces.
Insurance conglomerate AIG has officially announced the relocation of its global headquarters to 1271 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown, Manhattan. The new headquarters will span eight floors or approximately 325,000 feet.
Brookfield’s Manhattan West complex now includes a new Whole Foods Market within Five Manhattan West. The store occupies 60,245 square feet of the lower level of the building, which is located at 450 West 33rd Street in Hudson Yards.
The steel superstructure of Two Manhattan West is now well above ground in Midtown West. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by Brookfield, the 935-foot-tall skyscraper is located directly to the south of the completed One Manhattan West and will feature a nearly identical design. Two Manhattan West will top off at 58 floors and yield 2 million square feet of newly built office space, costing an estimated total of $2 billion.
