Community Engagement Begins For Aqueduct Racetrack In South Ozone Park, Queens

Governor Kathy Hochul has announced the start of a community engagement and site planning process to determine the future of the approximately 100-acre state-owned Aqueduct Racetrack site in South Ozone Park, Queens. Empire State Development will lead the planning effort on behalf of the New York State Franchise Oversight Board, with the Aqueduct Community Master Plan expected to be completed in early 2027.

Renderings Released for Second Phase of Resorts World Casino in Ozone Park, Queens

Resorts World Casino released new renderings of its second phase in South Ozone Park, Queens. It has also announced that Plaza Construction will be the lead construction manager of the ten-story expansion project. The future four-star hotel will have 400 rooms, a two-story main entrance, an additional gaming room, conference and meeting areas, a fitness center, more dining options, and retail space. In total, this 500,000-square-foot addition is expected to create 1,000 new construction jobs. Work has already progressed to the second floor, and the first part of the expansion is set to open later this summer. Perkins Eastman is designing the new phase while Cosentini Associates is the MEP engineer. DeSimone is the structural engineer and Langan is the civil engineer.
