Developers Celebrate the Opening of Bronx Point at 575 Exterior Street in The South Bronx

On October 19, Bronx Point celebrated its opening in a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by L&M Development Partners, Type A Projects, BronxWorks, and The Hip Hop Museum, alongside elected officials and community leaders. The $349 million mixed-use development is designed by S9Architecture. Located on the Harlem River waterfront in the South Bronx, Bronx Point is set to offer 542 affordable housing units in its first phase.

This initiative culminates a decade-long effort.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 1042 Longfellow Avenue, a two-story residential building in Longwood, The Bronx. Designed by Santoriello Architects and developed by Restoring Communities HDFC, the structure yields four residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are four units for residents at 90 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $41,109 to $157,590.

Excavation is now underway at 586 River Avenue, the site of a new Success Academy Charter School in the Concourse section of The Bronx. The six-story school will be minutes from Yankee Stadium and comprise around 300,000 square feet.

Permits have been filed for a 14-story mixed-use building at 521 East Tremont Avenue in Crotona, The Bronx. Located at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and East Tremont Avenue, the corner lot is near the Tremont station, serviced by the MetroNorth train on the Harlem line. Emanuel Kokinakis of MEGA Development under the 521 Tremont Owner LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The complex is currently addressed as 1600 Grand Avenue and this first phase will include a 14-story building with 326 affordable apartments, including 200 units for formerly homeless adults grappling with substance abuse.
