YIMBY went to check in on 226-232 East Broadway, the site of a 26-story residential building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Space 4 Architecture, aka S4Architecture, and developed by The Ascend Group, the project is rendered with an irregular pattern of windows, perimeter walls, and landscaped balconies and setbacks.
Construction will soon be completed at 730 Hicks Street, a three-story condominium development located in Red Hook, Brooklyn. From developer Shiraz Sanjana, the building comprises 16,000 square feet and will contain 15 residences.
Permits have been filed for a nine-story mixed-use building at 435 Hart Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Located at the intersection of Hart Street and Broadway, the lot also known as 1038 Broadway is three blocks east of the Myrtle Avenue subway station, serviced by the J, M, and Z trains. CAMBA Housing Ventures, an arm of nonprofit CAMBA, is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Permits have been filed for a four-story residential building at 112 Schaefer Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Located between Central Avenue and Evergreen Avenue, the interior lot is five blocks from the Wilson Avenue subway station, serviced by the L train. Chuan Jin Lin under the 104 Otis LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
YIMBY went to check in on the progress of the nine-building Essex Crossing complex on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, where two structures are getting closer to completion. The exterior of Handel Architects‘ 180 Broome Street is almost finished, while façade work is rapidly progressing on the CetraRuddy-designed 202 Broome Street. Both mixed-use developments join the six-acre master plan that is expected to cost $1 billion and will bring more than 1,000 new homes, 100,000 square feet of green space, over 350,000 square feet of offices, and 300,000 square feet of retail to the booming neighborhood. Triton Construction is the general contractor for the project.
