New York City will soon be home to the world’s tallest modular hotel, an ambitious new venture by Marriott International. Designed by Danny Forster & Architecture, the 26-story AC NoMad Hotel is set to dethrone the 19-story citizenM New York Bowery Hotel as the tallest modular hotel ever pieced together.
Permits have been filed for an 41-story hotel at 140 Fulton Street in the Financial District, Manhattan. Located between Nassau Street and Broadway, the interior lot is one block from the Fulton Street subway station, serviced by the 2, 3, 4, 5, A, C, J, and Z trains. Hidrock Properties is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Permits have been filed for an 18-story senior living facility at 2330 Broadway on the Upper West Side in Manhattan. Located between West 84th Street and West 85th Street, the interior lot is one block south of the 86th Street subway station, serviced by the 1 train. As previously reported by YIMBY, the site is under development by Welltower, Inc. and is the second senior living property in New York City for the global health provider. Real estate investment firm Hines is also a co-developer.
Space 4 Architecture, aka S4Architecture, has released renderings showing a new design for 226-232 East Broadway on the Lower East Side. The original plans called for two residential towers that would rise with identical architectural languages and surround a landmarked pre-war structure at 228 East Broadway. Now the project shows only one modestly tall building rising to the east of the former nursing home. The Ascend Group is the developer of the site.
The major renovation of lobby and entry areas within 55 Broad Street is now complete and New York YIMBY has exclusive new images from Rudin Management Company. The Financial District office building now features treatments such as marble walls, textured terrazzo flooring, and reflective ceilings to help magnify light within the entry space. Updated security features include electronic turnstiles, reception seating, and increased street-level visibility both from outside and within the building.
