Designed by NY Building Associates and developed and built by Yitzchok Katz of Developing NY State under the 39th Ave Equity LLC, the 103-foot-tall structure will span 43,904 square feet and yield 64 rental units with an average scope of 680 square feet, as well as 25 enclosed parking spaces on the ground level and 381 square feet of commercial space. Renderings Revealed for Sunset Pier 94 Studios on Hell’s Kitchen Waterfront, Manhattan

Renderings have been revealed for Sunset Pier 94 Studios, Manhattan’s first film and TV production studio, on the western edge of Hell’s Kitchen. Designed by Gensler and developed by Vornado Realty Trust in a public-private partnership with Hudson Pacific Properties, Blackstone, and the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the 266,000-square-foot structure will take shape along the Hudson River waterfront on a parcel long slated for redevelopment. Hudson Pacific Properties will manage leasing and operations and provide design oversight, and RBC and Ivanhoe Cambridge are providing $183 million in construction financing for the project, which is located directly across from DeWitt Clinton Park between West 52nd and West 54th Streets.

YIMBY’s 2022 Q2 Report Reveals Sustained Filing Volume from April Through June in New York City

Figures for new construction permit filings for New York City for the second quarter of 2022 are in, and YIMBY’s latest analysis reveals that a number of positive trends emergent in the year’s first quarter have continued at a sustained pace. During the period spanning April, May, and June, the Department of Buildings registered permit filings for a combined total of around 13.1 million square feet, which, among other uses, includes 9,997 residential and hotel rooms. Although the square footage of the average filing is slightly smaller compared to the first quarter, the 857 new permits filed in the second quarter almost exactly match the total of 862 filings in the previous quarter, with both figures substantially exceeding quarterly averages from the previous year. YIMBY’s Q3 2020 Report Shows 5,638 New Residential Units Filed from July through September

During the third quarter of 2020, spanning the period from July through September, developers expressed confidence in the city’s long-term economic future, as evidenced by the 446 building permits filed during the period, nearly matching the 476 filings in the second quarter. Between these applications, which cover all types of projects, the new residential buildings permitted totaled 5,638 units, a decrease from 9,309 the previous quarter, and a drop from 8,063 units submitted in Q3 of 2019. Despite the drop in residential units entering the pipeline for the Five Boroughs, overall permitting activity remains relatively vigorous, and all filings are available in Excel format at the following link.
