Excavators have begun to dig below street level at the site of 601 West 29th Street, aka Tower A, which will become a 695-foot-tall residential skyscraper. Our last YIMBY update was in early July, where demolition and clearing had just wrapped up at the site, which is located at the corner of West 29th Street and Eleventh Avenue. Workers are wasting no time at all with the construction of the 58-story building, which is designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Douglaston Development.

Ultra-Contemporary Redesign Revealed for 450 Eleventh Avenue in Hudson Yards

A new rendering has been released for 450 Eleventh Avenue, a 487-foot-tall hotel tower by Marx Development Groups in Hudson Yards. The redesign appears to be a much taller and features a more lively architectural scheme than the previous rendering from last month. Designed by DSM Design Group, the structure will contain a 531-room hotel from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.

Demolition Wraps for Two New Residential Skyscrapers at 601 West 29th Street, Next to Hudson Yards

Demolition has completed at the site of 601 West 29th Street in Hudson Yards for an upcoming 695-foot-tall, 58-story skyscraper designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Douglaston Development. Meanwhile, the adjacent lot is almost cleared for a 520-foot-tall, 42-story tower at 606 West 30th Street, which is being developed by Lalezarian Properties and designed by Ismael Leyva Architects. The two structures will share the parcel of land between 29th Street and 30th Street to the west of Eleventh Avenue.

Over the past two months, 66 Hudson Boulevard, aka The Spiral, has made swift progress. The first steel beam for the 65-story skyscraper was dedicated in mid-April and erected at a time when the core foundation walls hadn’t yet reached street level. Now, the steel superstructure for the Bjarke Ingels Group-designed commercial office tower is three floors above the Midtown neighborhood of Hudson Yards.

Reinforced Concrete Core of Norman Foster’s 50 Hudson Yards Rises Above Street Level, in Hudson Yards

Renown architect Norman Foster’s office skyscraper at 50 Hudson Yards is beginning to rise above street level. With 2.9 million square feet of floor space, it will be the largest commercial office building by square footage in the first phase of Hudson Yards, as well as the final structure in part one of Related Companies’ master plan. The site is bound by West 33rd Street, West 34th Street, Tenth Avenue, and Eleventh Avenue. The future 1,011-foot-tall tower sits across the street from 30 Hudson Yards, while construction on 66 Hudson Boulevard, aka The Spiral by Bjarke Ingels Group is also underway to the north. Oxford Properties and Mitsui Fudosan are the other two developers for the Foster + Partners-designed project.
