A cement truck was on-site today at 136 West 42nd Street, where a 405-foot Peter Poon designed tower is now rising. The glass box will be large enough to dominate and detract from its two pre-war neighbors, particularly the old Knickerbocker Hotel (to the right in the below photo). Still, considering the architect of the project is Peter Poon, New York dodged what could have been something significantly worse.
