An existing commercial structure at 2330 Broadway on Manhattan’s Upper West Side will be demolished and replaced with a state-of-the-art wellness facility and residential housing for senior citizens. Under development by Welltower, Inc. the property will be the global health provider’s second senior living property in New York City.

Real estate investment firm Hines and a passive institutional partner are credited co-developers of the new property. The building is designed by SLCE Architects, who also designed Sunrise at East 56th Street, Welltower’s first upscale senior facility.

The new property will stand 17 stories above 85th Street and will comprise 140,000 square feet, including both memory care facilities and senior living areas. Further details on interior components and design of the building have not been revealed by the developers.

“We are very pleased to expand our partnership with Hines, which is focused on developing state-of-the-art residential senior care buildings in major urban markets like New York City,” said Tom DeRosa, CEO of Welltower.  “The Upper West Side of Manhattan is a uniquely distinct neighborhood with a large population of affluent seniors yet zero supply of modern, purpose built residential care communities.”

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: Design can’t delay as well as report can’t stop for moving forward.
