The affordable housing lottery has launched for 61 Clarkson Avenue, a six-story residential building in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn. Designed by Carusone & Cherres Architects and developed by Clarkson Parnasa LLC, the structure yields 11 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are four units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $72,000 to $167,570.

Amenities include pet-friendly policies, bike storage lockers, a shared laundry room, rooftop terrace, package room, and virtual doorman. Residences come equipped with air conditioning, hardwood floors, energy-efficient appliances, and name-brand kitchen appliances, countertops, and finishes. New leases get two months free on a two-year lease. Tenants are responsible for electricity.

At 130 percent of the AMI, there are four one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,592 for incomes ranging from $88,869 to $156,130.

Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than May 31, 2023.

  2. this isn’t affordable housing.
    This is INCOME LINKED HOUSING for upper income people , not the low or middle income people who desperately need this housing.
    This millionaire developer used the now dead NYS taxpayer subsidy 421A to build

    • It’s affordable for someone making 90k. You think people with those incomes have plenty of great options to choose from? I do agree that it’s absurd to give tax breaks for such modest reductions in rent. That should only apply really for low income rent levels

      • people who make from $88,869 to $156,130 aren’t supposed to be the people receiving NYS taxpayer subsidies.
        This should only be for low and middle income people.
