The Elisa Nears Completion at 251 West 14th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan

Construction is nearing completion on The Elisa, an 11-story residential building at 251 West 14th Street in Chelsea. Designed by Isay Weinfeld Architects, the structure will yield 25 condominium units in one- to three-bedroom layouts with sales and marketing led by Bianca D’Alessio, Christian Haag, and Mia Calabrese of Nest Seekers and SERHANT. Prices range from $1.45 million to $5 million for the four-bedroom penthouse. Pizzarotti is the general contractor for the property, which is located on an interior lot between Seventh and Eighth Avenues near the border of the West Village and the Meatpacking District.

The remainder of the earth-toned brick façade has been installed around the irregular grid of floor-to-ceiling windows on the upper cantilevering section of the building since our last update in mid-October, when the western elevation was still being enclosed. These top three stories contrast with the bulk of the building below, which features a traditional massing and a white stone façade. The sidewalk shed remains standing as work wraps up on the ground floor.

Below are additional photographs taken at the beginning of winter showing crews at work on the roof around the mechanical bulkhead. The parapet has since been enclosed with metal railings for the roof terrace.

Homes at The Elisa will feature ceilings spans of over 9.5 feet, oak flooring, open-concept living spaces, and Boffi-designed kitchens with Miele appliances, an eat-in Pietra Serena stone island/peninsula, stainless steel countertops and backsplashes, custom oak cabinets and cupboards with opaque varnished doors, and a Sub-Zero wine cooler. Bathrooms come with bespoke Vanilla Ice marble walls and floors, brushed stainless steel fixtures, and thermostatic rain showers by Fantini. Other finishes will include custom Boffi-designed closets and in-unit Whirlpool washer and dryers. Select condominiums have private terraces.

Residential amenities include full-time door attendants, a fitness club with an outdoor landscaped patio, a bike room, a shared laundry room, storage for purchase, and a rooftop garden with an outdoor kitchen and views over the neighborhood and the Hudson River.

The closest subways from the property are the A, C, and E trains at the 14th Street station at the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 14th Street.

YIMBY anticipates The Elisa will complete construction sometime this spring.

  1. The curse of the forever construction on West 14th Street is about to lift.

  2. Those brown panels look like boarded up windows. Looks awful! The rendering deserves an award. The actual facade is not looking good at all.

  3. I really like the lush landscaping in the rendering… kind of like a precursor to…
    “LIFE WITHOUT PEOPLE”? 🤔🤣😂

  4. This no lookie too good

  5. Would’ve loved this to be at least as tall as 1930s office building on the corner…

Both thick and deep when the light hits, edges make me forget to look at the space inside: Thanks.
