Atlas, a 24-story rental building at 270 Johnston Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey, officially opened with a ceremonial ribbon cutting on September 12. Designed by MHS Architecture and developed by Alpine Residential and Fields Grade, the structure will yield 169 units in studio to three-bedroom layouts, with many offering private outdoor space. The property is located between Maple/Garabrant Street and Communipaw Avenue, in close proximity to Liberty State Park.

Amenities at Atlas include a fitness center, coworking space, a community room, and a lounge on the 24th floor. The outdoor roof deck features grilling stations, dining areas, and a plunge pool.
Select residential units will offer views of the Statue of Liberty, Liberty Harbor, Liberty State Park, and the Manhattan skyline.

“For a project like this to happen you need partnership,” said Jersey City Council president Joyce E. Watterman. “The government can’t do it alone. You always need private partnerships to get it done. I want to thank you for the partnership. We don’t take it for granted. Let’s continue to do great things in neighborhoods that we can revitalize because the people deserve it.”
