An immersive public art installation, Path of Liberty: That Which Unites US, is coming to Freedom Plaza in Midtown East, Manhattan. Slated to open in spring 2025, the exhibition will span six acres from 38th to 41st Street on First Avenue, and is made possible by the Soloviev Foundation. It was designed by multi-specialty creative studio C&G Partners, with direction from award-winning filmmaker Daniella Vale.
The installation will feature 45 large-scale screens displaying photographs, audio stories, documentaries, and interactive elements that explore America’s founding principles of liberty and equality through personal lived experiences. Vale traveled across the country to capture portraits and interviews with a diverse group of veterans, artists, activists, farmers, educators, and more, each offering a unique perspective on life in America.
The installation aims to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary and highlight the resilience of its citizens. The project seeks to foster a deeper understanding of the common bonds that unite Americans, despite the divisive nature of the current political climate.
“Path of Liberty: That Which Unites US is as much a celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence as it is about the future of American cities like New York,” said Michael Hershman, CEO of Soloviev Group. “The installation will expose the world to the importance of democracy and freedom in a very personal way, while also demonstrating the resiliency of citizens who boldly forge a daily path toward realizing their dreams.”
