The Downtown Manhattan Heliport may be receiving a big overhaul in use and design. Located at 6 East River Piers in Downtown Manhattan‘s Financial District, the pier which comprises of nearly two acres of tarmac is mainly used for helicopter tourism. It is one of three public-use heliports, the other two are at West 30th Street and East 34th Street.

Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by Lonicera Partners, the 34-story structure spans 295,000 square feet and yields 314 rental apartments in one- to two-bedroom layouts, with 95 reserved for affordable housing, as well as 9,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Rabina is the co-developer of the property, which was formerly addressed as 23 Hanover Place and is located at the corner of Livingston Street and Hanover Place.
A rendering has been revealed for 133 Kent Avenue, a forthcoming six-story mixed-use building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by BKSK Architects and developed by Joyland Group and Prospect Development, the 72,000-square-foot structure will yield 43 condominium units and more than 17,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The project will rise from a 20,000-square-foot lot at the corner of Kent Avenue and North 6th Street.
Kendal on Hudson, a senior living community at 1010 Kendall Way in Sleepy Hollow, New York, has received preliminary approval for $20.6 million in tax-exempt bond financing from the Westchester County’s Local Development Corporation. The financing will go toward a renovation for the property, which is designed to improve accessibility and functionality in both interior and exterior common spaces for the 222-unit community, and is expected to cost a total of $32 million.
