Office Of Environmental Remediation Announces 165 Acres Of Cleaned Land Resulting In 28,000 New Housing Units

The New York City Mayor’s Office of Environmental Remediation (OER) recently announced that it has successfully cleaned 165 acres of contaminated land across the city since the start of Mayor Eric Adams’ administration. The remediated land has been redeveloped into various new uses, including 28,000 units of housing (12,000 of which are affordable), 16 new schools, 2.9 million square feet of community space, and 6.1 million square feet of commercial space.

625 Fulton Street’s Exterior Nears Completion in Downtown Brooklyn

The 18th-tallest building on our year-end construction countdown is 625 Fulton Street, a 500-foot-tall residential skyscraper in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Fischer Rasmussen Whitefield Architects and developed by Rabsky Group with $450 million in construction financing from Madison Realty Capital, the 35-story structure will yield 1,098 rental units, 26,000 square feet of lower-level retail space, and an on-site parking garage for 250 vehicles. The property is alternately addressed as 485 Hudson Avenue and bound by the 34-story 80 Dekalb Avenue to the north, Fulton Street to the south, Rockwell Place to the east, and Hudson Avenue to the west.

New Immersive Art Installation Announced for Freedom Plaza In Midtown East, Manhattan

An immersive public art installation, Path of Liberty: That Which Unites US, is coming to Freedom Plaza in Midtown East, Manhattan. Slated to open in spring 2025, the exhibition will span six acres from 38th to 41st Street on First Avenue, and is made possible by the Soloviev Foundation. It was designed by multi-specialty creative studio C&G Partners, with direction from award-winning filmmaker Daniella Vale.
