Construction is complete on Willets Point Commons, two 12-story residential buildings in the first phase of the redevelopment of Willets Point, Queens. Designed by S9Architecture and developed by Queens Development Group (QDG), a joint venture between Related Companies and Sterling Equities, the structures yield a total of 880 affordable units. The project is being completed in partnership with the New York City Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD), the New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC), and the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). The buildings are bounded by Willets Point Boulevard to the northwest, Roosevelt Avenue to the south, and Flushing Creek to the east.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for Willets Point Commons, a new 100-percent affordable residential development at 126–43 Willets Point Boulevard in Willets Point, Queens. Developed by Queens Development Group (QDG), a joint venture between Related Companies and Sterling Equities, the project comprises 880 apartments across the first two buildings of the larger Willets Point redevelopment being constructed adjacent to Citi Field.

Construction is rising on Etihad Park, the home stadium for Major League Soccer’s New York City Football Club (NYCFC) at 126–87 Willets Point Boulevard in Willets Point, Queens. Designed by HOK, the 24,851-seat venue will stand as the centerpiece of a 23-acre redevelopment plan along with a new 650-seat public school, a hotel, and more than 150,000 square feet of public open space. The facility will also be the first fully electric stadium in New York City and in MLS history. The project site is bounded by 127th Street to the northeast, 35th Avenue to the northwest, Willets Point Boulevard to the southeast, and Seaver Way and Citi Field to the southwest.

Construction has reached a milestone in the first phase of the Willets Point Transformation project in Willets Point, Queens, where the superstructures of Buildings 1 and 2 have been completed ahead of schedule. These two buildings will deliver 880 of the total 2,500 affordable housing units planned for the site, marking a step forward in what is set to be New York City’s largest 100-percent affordable housing development in over four decades. The initiative is being developed by Queens Development Group, a joint venture of Related Companies and Sterling Equities, in partnership with the NYC Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and the NYC Housing Development Corporation (HDC).

Construction has risen past the halfway mark on the first phase of the Willets Point redevelopment, a two-building residential project in Willets Point, Queens. Designed by S9Architecture and developed by the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the 12-story structures will rise from shared one-story podium and will yield 880 affordable units in one building and 220 affordable senior units in the other. The project is located on an approximately six-acre plot bound by Willets Point Boulevard to the northwest, Roosevelt Avenue to the south, and Flushing Creek to the east.

Willets Point Development Enters Next Phase with Emphasis on Affordable Housing

New York City Economic Development Corporation has begun the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure for Phase 2 of the Willets Point development in Queens, a key project initiated by Mayor Eric Adams. This phase includes plans for 1,400 units of affordable housing, a new public school, 40,000 square feet of public open space, a privately financed soccer stadium, and a hotel.

New York City Football Club Reveals Renderings of 25,000-Seat Willets Point Soccer Stadium in Corona, Queens

In a meeting with Willets Point Queens Community Board 7, the New York City Football Club presented its plans to construct a 25,000-seat soccer stadium near Citi Field in Corona, Queens. Known as the Willets Point Revitalization Plan, the scope of work also includes a 100-percent affordable housing project with more than 2,500 units, a 650-seat school, a 250-key hotel, retail and dining locations, and more than 40,000 square feet of public open space.
