Cook County, Illinois-based LSC Development has filed applications for a three-story, 158,490-square-foot self-storage facility at 34-12 Collins Place, located on the corner 34th Avenue in downtown Flushing. The new building will rise 51 feet in height and will contain storage units across the cellar through third floors. There will be accessory offices on the ground floor, as well as 14 off-street parking spaces and five loading berths. Chicago-based SGW Architects is the architect of record. The 52,738-square-foot plot is occupied by a single-story commercial building at 34-01 College Point Boulevard. Demolition permits have not been filed.
Late last year, Century Development Group signed an agreement with Starwood Hotels & Resorts to bring a 250-key Westin hotel to the mixed-use project planned at 137-61 Northern Boulevard, located on the corner of Leavitt Street in downtown Flushing. Century told The Real Deal that the latest development plans call for a 12- or 13-story building, which, in addition to the hotel, would also include 50 residential units.
A Flushing-based property owner has filed applications for an eight-story, 12-unit mixed-use building at 137-70 Northern Boulevard, in downtown Flushing. The project will encompass 54,983 square feet and rise 97 feet to its roof. There will be 14,251 square feet of retail space across parts of the ground through third floors, followed by 5,361 square feet of medical office space on the third floor and 12 apartments across the fourth through eighth floors. The residential units should average 1,580 square feet apiece, which means they will likely be condominiums.
A Queens-based property owner has filed applications for a four-story, five-unit mixed-use building at 41-16 Haight Street, in downtown Flushing. The project, measuring 7,180 square feet, will feature 1,780 square feet across the ground and cellar levels for a children’s daycare center, followed by five residential units on the second through fourth floors. The apartments should average 724 square feet apiece, indicative of rental units. Robert H. Lin’s Flushing-based A&T Engineering is the applicant of record. The 20-foot-wide, 2,000-square-foot lot is occupied by a two-story house. Demolition permits were filed in November.
An undisclosed buyer has acquired, for $13 million, the 28,350-square-foot development site at 159-18 Northern Boulevard, located between 159th and 160th streets in Flushing’s Murray Hill section. The site is currently occupied by a two-story commercial building, a former branch of Flushing Bank, Crain’s reported. If the existing structure is demolished, the site could accommodate a maximum 56,700 square feet of development. Nearly 38,273 square feet could be used as residential space, whereas up to 28,350 square feet could be commercial space. Any amount, up to 56,700 square feet, could be used as community facility space. Plans for the site have not been disclosed.
