Renderings from KSS Architects are the first to reveal the new permanent home of the Bold Charter School at 1472 Boston Road in the Crotona East Park neighborhood of The Bronx. The new building will comprise 81,590 square feet and will serve students currently enrolled in two temporary facilities at 1093 Southern Boulevard and 1090 Close Avenue, also in The Bronx.
Proposals to construct a new 2,040-seat charter school at 79 Caven Point Avenue in Jersey City‘s Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood are now under review by the Jersey City Planning Board. Friends of Quality Education is the local non-profit organization behind the applications to construct the school, which will debut as the Canal Crossing Charter Public School Campus.
Construction has partially topped out on The Borden Complex, a five-story industrial building at 23-30 Borden Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by KSS Architects for Innovo Property Group, which acquired the property for $75 million with Atalaya Capital Management and Nan Fung Group, the 166-foot-tall structure will span 840,000 square feet and house logistics and warehouse space featuring truck courts, a distribution center, two stories of film and television studios, office space, and on-site vertical parking. Earlier this summer, IPG closed on a $435 million loan from Starwood Property Trust and JPMorgan to refinance the development. March Associates Construction is the general contractor for the project, which is located between Borden Avenue and Newton Creek. HLW is the designer of the studio facility within the building.
Permits have been filed for a new industrial-use high-rise building at 28-90 Review Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. Located at the intersection of Borden Avenue and Review Avenue, the lot is near the Hunters Point subway station, serviced by the 7 train. Andrew Chung is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Construction is complete on Haus25, a 57-story mixed-use skyscraper at 25 Columbus Drive in Jersey City. Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects and developed by Veris Residential, the 626-foot-tall structure yields 750 residential units with interiors designed by Fogarty Finger, as well as an adjacent school designed by KSS Architects in the low-rise podium to the east. Melillo + Bauer Associates is the landscape designer, DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the structural engineer, Inglese Architecture + Engineering is the civil engineer, and AMA Consulting Engineers is the mechanical engineer for the New Jersey project, which is bound by Christopher Columbus Drive to the north, Montgomery Street to the south, Washington Street to the east, and Warren Street to the west.
