Eagle + West Nears Completion at 227 West Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Exterior work is finishing up on Eagle + West, a two-tower residential project at 227 West Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by OMA and Beyer Blinder Belle and developed by Brookfield Property Partners and Park Tower Group, the 30- and 40-story reinforced concrete superstructures will yield a total of 745 rental units, with 30 percent planned as “income-targeted” apartments, marketed in accordance with the Affordable Housing New York program. James Corner Field Operations is the landscape architect, DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the structural engineer, Thornton Tomasetti is the façade consultant, Marmol Radziner is designing the interiors, and Highbury Concrete is responsible for constructing the buildings, which are located off the corner of Eagle and West Streets within the Greenpoint Landing master plan.

Tiffany & Co. Flagship Expansion Progresses at 727 Fifth Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan

Work is continuing to take shape on the expansion of the Tiffany & Co. flagship store at 727 Fifth Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by OMA partners Shohei Shigematsu and Jake Forster, the scope involves a three-story steel-framed structural addition that rises above the original flat roof line of the world famous jewelry brand’s 72-year-old Art Moderne building. CallisonRTKL is the architect of record, Peter Marino Architects is handling the interior renovations, Mace is the owners rep, and Structure Tone is the general contractor for the project, which now stands 11 stories tall at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street.

1,100-Foot Supertall at 41-47 West 57th Street Approved for Zoning Bonus in Midtown, Manhattan

At number 11 on our construction countdown is 41-47 West 57th Street, an 1,100-foot-tall mixed-use skyscraper on Billionaires’ Row in Midtown. Designed by OMA and developed by Sedesco, the 63-story, 443,000-square-foot tower will yield 119 residential units spread across 237,000 square feet, a 158-room hotel spanning 205,100 square feet on floors two through 20, and a 10,212-square-foot restaurant. The skyscraper will rise from a plot between Fifth and Sixth Avenues and will have frontage along both West 57th and West 58th Streets.

227 West Street’s Façade Reaches Both Pinnacles in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Façade installation is getting closer to completion on 227 West Street, a two-tower residential development in the 22-acre Greenpoint Landing development along the East River in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Demolition is now complete at 41-47 West 57th Street, the site of a 1,100-foot-tall mixed-use supertall in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by OMA and developed by Sedesco, the 63-story building will yield 119 residential units spread across 443,100 square feet, nearly 205,100 square feet of commercial space in the form of a 158-room hotel, and a 10,212-square-foot restaurant. The project is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues and will have frontage along both West 57th and West 58th Streets. Sedesco is offering to help construct a pair of new ADA-accessible elevators to the nearby 57th Street station on Sixth Avenue, servicing the F train, in exchange for an additional 52,000 square feet.

Glass Curtain Installation Begins on Tiffany & Co.’s Expansion in Midtown, Manhattan

Installation of the wavy glass curtain wall has begun on the steel-framed addition atop Tiffany & Co.’s flagship store at 727 Fifth Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by OMA partners Shohei Shigematsu and Jake Forster, the project involves a three-story addition over the original roof line of the 71-year-old Art Moderne building, which is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street. CallisonRTKL is the architect of record and Peter Marino Architects is handling the interior renovations for the iconic jewelry store. Tiffany & Co. temporarily relocated its flagship to an adjacent storefront at 6 East 57th Street during construction.

Designed by OMA with Beyer Blinder Belle as the architect of record and developed by both Brookfield Property Partners and Park Tower Group, the mixed-use project is part of the 22-acre Greenpoint Landing development along the East River. New Rendering by OMA Highlights 41-47 West 57th Street’s Height, In Midtown Manhattan

OMA released a new preliminary rendering of 41-47 West 57th Street, which YIMBY reported on last week when it was heard that the planned mixed-use 1,100-foot-high supertall would rise along Billionaires’ Row over West 57th Street over the next several years. Crain’s reported that Sedesco will also offer to bring in a pair of new ADA-accessible elevators to the nearby 57th Street station on Sixth Avenue in exchange for an additional 52,000 square feet of space for the potential 443,100-square-foot Midtown, Manhattan project. About 237,100 square feet will be devoted toward residential usage with 119 units, while nearly 205,100 square feet of commercial space will make room for a 158-room hotel and a 10,212-square-foot restaurant. 41-47 West 57th Street is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues and will include ground-floor frontage on both West 57th and 58th Streets.

Construction has topped out on the three-story expansion of Tiffany & Co.’s flagship store at 727 Fifth Avenue in Midtown. Designed by OMA partners Shohei Shigematsu and Jake Forster, the project also involves a full interior overhaul of the 71-year-old structure, which is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and East 57th Street. When complete, the building will stand ten stories tall.
