Foundations Nearing Street Level for Aloft Hotel at 50 Trinity Place in the Financial District

Foundation work is progressing rapidly at 50 Trinity Place, as steel rebar and formwork for the sub-story levels are now reaching street level. Excavation and pilings were still ongoing at the time of YIMBY’s late-July update and now work will soon commence for the superstructure of the ground-up Aloft Hotel. Located in the Financial District at the corner of Trinity Place and Rector Street, diagonally across from Trinity Church, the hotel is designed by Peter Poon Architects. FIT Investment Corporation is the developer of the project, and purchased the Lower Manhattan site for $15 million from Sam Chang in 2012.

Aloft Hotel’s Superstructure Climbs Higher at 132 West 28th Street, in Chelsea

The reinforced concrete structure of the 203-room Aloft Hotel at 132 West 28th Street has risen to the tenth floor above Chelsea. YIMBY last reported on the project in late March, when foundations were just about to reach street level. Peter Poon Architects is the designer and while Frank Ng is the developer of the 326-foot-tall, 32-story tower. Now three months of construction work has made the reinforced concrete structure rise to the tenth floor.

Permits Filed for 319 West 35th Street in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for a 25-story hotel at 319 West 35th Street in Hudson Yards, Manhattan. Located between 8th Avenue and 9th Avenue, the interior lot is one block north of 34th Street-Penn Station, serviced by the A, C, and E trains. Wei Hong Hu under the H Hotel LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Foundation Work Underway For Aloft Hotel at 132 West 28th Street, in Chelsea

Work on the foundations for 132 West 28th Street is now underway. Located in Chelsea between Sixth Avenue and Seventh Avenue, the structure will be a 326-foot-tall, 32-story Aloft Hotel with 203 rooms. Peter Poon Architects is behind the design while Frank Ng is the developer. Recent photos show that the building is one floor away from reaching street level.

New Permits Filed for 410 West 126th Street in Harlem, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for a new sixteen-story mixed-use building at 410 West 126th Street in Harlem, Manhattan. Located between Morningside and Amsterdam avenues, the corner lot is one block away from the 125th Street subway station, serviced by the A,B, C, and D trains. It is also three blocks south of St. Nicholas Park, and four blocks north of Morningside Park. Jianhui Hu of Columbia International is listed as behind the applications.

Permits Filed for 29-Story Hotel at 58 West 39th Street, Midtown Manhattan

Permits have been filed for a 29-story hotel at 58 West 39^th Street, in Midtown, Manhattan. The site is just a block away from Bryant Park, in the heart of the city. Times Square is just an avenue west, with Grand Central two avenues to the east. Wei Hong Hu of H Hotel LLC is listed as responsible for the development.

33-Story, 271-Key AC Hotel Now 10 Stories Up At 151 Maiden Lane, Financial District

Construction is now 10 stories above street level on the 33-story, 271-key AC Hotel, a Marriott brand, under development at 151 Maiden Lane, located on the corner of Front Street in the Financial District. The progress can be seen thanks to a photo posted to the YIMBY Forums. The latest building permits indicate the structure will measure 139,891 square feet and stand 336 feet to its pinnacle at the top of the bulkhead. Retail space will occupy some of the ground floor and hotel rooms will be located on the third through 30th floors. LCRE Group is the developer and Pizzarotti-IBC is building the project. Peter F. Poon’s SoHo-based architecture firm is the architect. Completion is expected in the summer of 2017.

New Look For 28-Story, 173-Key Hotel At 50 Trinity Place, Financial District

Two-and a-half years ago, YIMBY revealed renderings for a 28-story hotel at 50 Trinity Place in the Financial District. Now we have fresh images of the development, which is going to be an Aloft Hotel.

At the intersection of the Financial District and the beginnings of South Street Seaport lies Maiden Lane, which is rapidly transforming into a continuation of the high-rise corridor to the south. On one particular corner, at the intersection with Front Street, two buildings are now rising. Thanks to YIMBY Forumer Rich Brome we have photos of the new hotel coming to 151 Maiden Lane, which is already several floors above street level, as well as the residential tower rising at One Seaport, climbing next door at a slightly slower pace.

Peter Poon Architects have designed nearly two dozen hotels across the city, and now another one of their glassy structures is coming to the area near Penn Station. Mayflower Business Group has filed new building applications for a 24-story hotel at 319 West 35th Street, between Eighth and Ninth avenues.
