The Collection Tops Out at 401 West Street in West Village, Manhattan

Construction has topped out on The Collection, an eight-story residential building at 401 West Street along the Hudson River waterfront in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by Thomas Juul Hansen and Hill West Architects and developed by Wainbridge Capital, the ten-unit project has taken some time to materialize because of a delay in demolition due to sustained flood damage from Superstorm Sandy. The property is located between West 10th and Charles Streets, directly across from the Christopher Street Pier.

The Department of City Planning recently reviewed and assessed proposals to construct Glenmore Manor, a ground-up affordable housing development in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Located at the intersection of Christopher and Glenmore Avenues, the development is one of several residential components in the Brownsville Plan, an initiative to revitalize and invigorate the surrounding area.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for Harry T. Nance Apartments, a ten-story mixed-use building at 1860 Eastern Parkway in Brownsville, Brooklyn. The 73,012-square-foot, 67-unit development is designed by Heritage Architecture and developed by RiseBoro Community Partnership. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 55 units for residents at 30 to 60 percent of the area median income, ranging in eligible income from $18,515 to $84,600.

Permits Filed for 28 Christopher Avenue in Brownsville, Brooklyn

Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 28 Christopher Avenue in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Located at the intersection of Liberty Avenue and Christopher Avenue, the corner lot is within walking distance of the Broadway Junction subway station, serviced by the A, C, J, L, and Z trains. Leo Klein under the 103 Liberty LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

In the borderlands between East New York, Brownsville and Ocean Hill, one developer is planning supportive housing on an industrial block that the city plans to rezone for residential. New building applications were filed today for a six-story development at 2414a Atlantic Avenue, between Sackman Street and East New York Avenue.

Four-Story, 10-Family Building Filed At 1815 Eastern Parkway, Brownsville

On the vacant triangular lot at 1815 Eastern Parkway, in northern Brownsville, Mayer Meisels has filed applications for a four-story, 10-unit residential building, four blocks from either the Rockaway Av. stop on the C train and the East New York LIRR station. The building will measure 9,720 square feet, which means units will average 972 square feet. Kenneth Thomas is the applicant of record.
